West coast of Anatolia was supposed to be occupied by Italy. But, United Kingdom decided to give it to Greece and then Italy decided to help Turkey. Even though Italy was on Allied side, Turkish National Movement and Italian forces never ened in a conflict. And by help, it's mostly they didn't take their equipment and vehicles back when they had started to return to their homeland, and left them to Turkish forces.

There's this show: Axis Powers Hetalia which basically is a funny take on history and the main character is "Italy". The title Hetalia means "Hetare Italia" where hetare means something like "weak-willed" or "cowardly". It pokes fun at how Italy has always been kinda fucking around in wars. Pretty nice if you're into that kind of stuff.
